Arkansas

Arkansas voters will be capable to vote on adult-use legalization in November, the state Supreme Courtroom determined late final week. The State Board of Election Commissioners had denied certification of the measure in August, citing issues about poll sufficiency. The Supreme Courtroom disagreed.

…we conclude that the poll title at concern is full sufficient to convey an intelligible thought of the scope and import of the proposed modification.

So add Arkansas to the listing of states we’ll be reporting on in somewhat over a month!

Oklahoma

As we reported final week, voters within the Sooner State is not going to be becoming a member of their neighbors to the east in voting on hashish. For an in-depth take a look at the explanation why, see this piece from the Tulsa World. One factor to notice is Governor Kevin Stitt’s (R) response to the problem. Though he doesn’t assist legalization in his state, he does assist a federal measure to make hashish authorized.

Nevada

Las Vegas will quickly have a brand new kind of attraction to supply guests – hashish consumption lounges. The Metropolis Council voted to permit the lounges inside metropolis limits, by a 5-1 vote. Twenty licenses shall be issued in October.

Georgia

It’s been seven years since Georgia legalized medical marijuana and three years for the reason that governor signed a legislation to arrange a system to permit the sale of low-THC medical hashish oil. Now, in the end, the state awarded two medical hashish licenses, and manufacturing is predicted to start out inside a yr. Nobody can complain this was a rushed course of.

Fascinating footnote, despite the fact that Georgia legalized medical marijuana, members of the Georgia Bar can’t advise shoppers concerned within the state-legal hashish enterprise. This prohibition is predicated on a 2021 Order of the Georgia Supreme Courtroom denying the Georgia bar’s movement to amend the Georgia Guidelines of Skilled Conduct to allow Georgia legal professionals to advise shoppers concerned within the hashish enterprise.

And at last

In the event you’ll be in Texas subsequent month, preserve your eyes peeled for the CannaBus. It’s a cellular dispensary from Goodblend, considered one of three corporations licensed to promote medical hashish within the state. The “Trip in your Rights” tour seeks to coach Texans on the state’s program, together with how you can get hold of a hashish prescription.

Keep secure and be effectively everybody – we’ll see you subsequent week!
